Hameed Khan Kawa is a percussionist (tablas) and an artistic director, inherited from a long musical lineage from Rajasthan, (North India), exponent of both folk and classical Indian music and sharing now his life between Paris and Jaipur.

For the last twenty years, Hameed Khan Kawa has been performing with artists of different persuasions, such as The Trio Erik Marchand, a subtle fusion of French Brittany, Arabian and Rajasthani traditions, Narendra Bataju, Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Lakshmi Shankar, Chico Bouchiki (Gypsy King), Najat Aatabou, Natacha Atlas, Henri Texier, Lo'Jo, Thierry Robin, Henri Agnel, Gulabi Sapera, Carolyn Carlson, the choreographer… appearing as a great player and innovator in the field of traditional music.

These original Western and Oriental fusions encourage Hameed Khan Kawa to explore new but familiar horizons in developing Traditional North Indian music, with Musafir and Jaipur Kawa Brass Band, both founded by himself, and also Sufi influence by introducing a Sufi Kathak dancer with Musafir, a Qawwali group of the young emerging generation and by turning on the captivating land of magic with a circus of street performers.

He has developed a keen sense of playing, arranging music, preserving Indian performing arts by training new artists, generating shows with various performers, that he constantly reveals while touring on the international scenes.
