LeOparleur decided to hide away in a Finca somewhere in Andalusia to work on their current album "Faut Du Reve. And, yes, you can hear that It's full of energy and down to earth at a time.
"Faut Du Reve" is shining and colorful like a circus tent from the outside, inside it can be darker and melancholic sometimes. The horns go low, while the trombones are doing the Ska, you hear the clarinette play Klezmer in perfect harmony with the anatolian violin, and the accordeon swings between sadness and vitality.
Travelling has always been an important subject for LeOparleur. And again their music has come a long way, a little Cumbia, a lot of Rock, electric guitars meet real Chanson, Flamenco-Loops and Rumba. LeOparleur are obviously influenced by bands as varied as The Kinks, The Clash, Ojos de Brujo and Calexico, to name just a few. Their lyrics are inspired by Louis Jouvet, Almodovar, Garcia Lorca and Heidegger, but also their families. And of course meeting other artists from all over the world has always been a great enrichment for the band. On "Faut Du Reve", LoJo as well as Manu Dibango left their marks.
It's obvious LeOparleur came to a certain maturity. And they did it in the best possible way: Their new sound adds something deep and thoughtful to the friskiness, but at the same time it has a certain back-to-the-roots appeal in terms of the way the rhythm section plays, that is pure punkrock spirit
We love it
