Kongero

Highly esteemed Folk’appella band Kongero is one of Sweden’s most touring acts. They take the listener on a fabulous journey, an all-embracing Scandinavian folk music experience. Amazing vocal polyphony, intimate, groovy, and powerful. Kongero has released 6 CD’s and 2 Song Books.

With their voices moving together in tight harmony or intertwining in a whirling tempo, Kongero draws traditional Swedish music out of the past and into the present.

Kongero was formed in 2005 at Ingesund University College of Music. Between teaching and concerts, the Kongeros also conduct workshops, in traditional Swedish vocal music and vocal polyphony.

Kongero has released 6 albums. The debut ”Om Mikaelidagen” in 2008, ”Bakvända världen” in 2011, ”no. 3” in 2014, "KOM" in 2017, "Vaerla Vaken", a collaboration album with instrumental band Massivet in 2018, and a live album "Live in Longueuil" in 2021. Their music has been sampled, has appeared in movie productions, has featured on a Naxos gold selling album and more.

Kongero is also well known for their popular Workshops and teaching activities. During Covid-19 they have conducted many well received online workshops for singers and choirs all over the world.
