Since the release their second album A Fig for a Kiss, which won third place in the end of year poll in the prestigious British music magazine Mojo, Providence have gone from strength to strength. Their eponymous debut album received great acclaim both in Ireland and abroad. The band’s first tour outside Ireland brought them to the Arctic Circle for St. Patrick’s Day 1999. Since then they have toured, and appeared at various festivals in Norway, Finland, Denmark, Germany, Scotland, England and in the USA where they played in the prestigious Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC as well as live television appearances. Providence were also special guests on the infamous Iain Anderson Show on BBC Radio Scotland, and on the legendary John Creedon Show, RTÉ Radio 1 and on RTÉ TV’s Open House. They also featured on the award-winning series on TG4 Geantraí.
