Cassette from Johannesburg took the South African music scene by storm. Affected by Bands like Radiohead, Coldplay, Queen, Elvis Costello and James Brown, the Quintet consisting of Andrew Wessels (Drums), Marc Beutel (Guitar), Nathan Waywell (Bass), Jane Breetzke (Keyboards) and Jon Savage (Vocals) creates classical rock music with pop-appeal since 2005.

It hasn't taken Cassette long to shake up the music industry both in South Africa and internationally. For their debut album Welcome back to Earth the band received the southafrican music award for the best rock-album 2007. Legendary producer Neal Snyman, who has also worked on albums for David Bowie, Bjork, INXS & The Springbok Nude Girls, worked on the album.

Cape Town Argus journalists describe them as having "more energy in one performance than most bands have in a lifetime." Head of Sony-BMG, Dave Thompson calls them "one of the most original and dynamic live and recording acts seen in South Africa for many years." Now this energetic band will be touring Germany, Switzerland and Austria to infect the audiences with the Cassette-virus!
