Ola Onabule - this name evokes soul. He is a songwriter, arranger and producer and has performed at numerous international festivals. Ola convinces with a clear and stunning voice, which is almost classical, furthermore he is known as an exceptionally gifted entertainer. In Germany as well he performed at major festivals and inspired the german audience especially while playing his songs in a new style with the SWR Big Band at the Jazzfest Aalen. He also played with the WDR Big Band in the Cologne Philharmonie and the Babelsberg Film-Orchestra in the Nikolaisaal Potsdam.
In 2012 the gentleman of soul, who already shared stage with the top leage of soul and jazz vocalists such as Al Jarreau, Dianne Reeves, Joe Zawinul, Roberta Flack, Natalie Cole, Roy Hargrove, Gladys Knight or Patti LaBelle, is presenting his 7th studio album "Seven Shades Darker" live on tour in Germany.
"Seven Shades Darker" is a piece of modern classic which traces back to the blues of the late sixties and early seventies and combines african music with soul. Sometimes it reminds of funk, sometimes he talks about painfull moments in sad ballades. Characteristic of the album is the lyrical sensitivity, the poetry in every single note with stories which are drawn from live. Ola himself explains: "I write with the heart of a folk-songwriter with the desire that my lyrics are heard and read."
