IMAGINARY STANDARTS
Jazz in the 21st Century
Matthias Mainz, Trompete
Kees van Zomeren, Kontrabass
Daniel Freundlieb, Schlagzeug
Imaginary Standarts is the jazz trio of the colonian trumpeter Matthias Mainz. Imaginary Standarts was more a playground than a group at the beginning. The musicians improvised together and played around with the greats of jazz history, fragments of popular jazz melodies, harmonic clichees that are sometimes the foundation, and sometimes the crowning of their music.
Even though this concert program contains many famous jazz and jazzy pieces, it doesn't break scene with the idea of Imaginary Standarts:
The three young Colognians continue to play their music with unabated enthusiasm and wit.
