Be positive about one thing : Les Doigts de L'Homme are not gipsy jazz musicians. The four of them come from very contrasted musical backgrounds their sense of curiosity has brought them together around this music they've fallen in love with. They've never hankered after reproducing what was being played 50 years ago, but rather after boosting gipsy jazz into travelling further.
The quartet's sound and energy are amazing. Connecting Gipsy Jazz and Gipsy rock, creativity, dexterity and humour are omnipresent. Shattering experience, they set off a new path and provide an exciting reference to the style's limits, with rock and world influences added. Some special colour and dynamic that never let the public unresponsive. Festive but not redundant, themes are at times profound and full of emotions and then give way to very fast Tzigane-like tempos
