Kal stunned UK audiences in 2004 with
their debut tour and are planning to return in
2006/7
Kal play contemporary Roma music based
on traditional tunes, but as with many gypsy
bands, influences from all over central and
Eastern Europe are instantly recognisable.
In 1997 they performed at Yugoslavia's
largest festival 'Budva 97' and released their
first recording 'Balkan Ambience' with
Komuna Records. Since then they've toured
Europe extensively including such festivals
as Pepsi-Sziget Budapest, Fono, Rackert,
La notte di San Lorenzo, and played
alongside many of the famous Hungarian
Roma bands kali Yag, Ando Drom,
Ternipe.
