Jjanice + soon discovered a propensity for visual art and poetry while living in a small village in the Mauricie region of Quebec. Following this passion, he decided to continue his artistic journey to Montreal. He has made several crucial meetings, particularly with the multidisciplinary collective Kalmunity.
It is also within this collective that he meets Patrice Agbokou from PASA Musik Productions.
The latter will become co-composer, arranger and co-producer of Jjanice's musical projects.
With this new contribution, Jjanice begins to write in a style peculiar to him. His inspiration generally comes from traditional Afro-Caribbean rhythms, Antillean stories of "audienceurs" reminiscent of his native Haiti and a hybrid music with current trends. Over the years, he has been able to present his works on many stages, including the Francofolies de Montréal, the Montreal International Jazz Festival, the Pop Montreal Festival, the Montreal M, the Place des Arts and many more. With already 2 EP’s released, JJanice + releases his latest album in 2019.
Accompanied by his musicians or solo on stage, he transports you to an imaginary, evolutive and full of "groove" ambiance, exploring the universe of this album entitled La Reine Aux Ailes d'Écailles. Jjanice + offers you a poetic and musical journey where nothing seems out of bounds.
