Meet Yosei a band with a feel and flair for sweet expressionism that with their finely tuned instrumentarium create an urban brand of folk-pop with a touch of jazz.
The new album, The Wind-Up Waltz, is comprised of a set of beautifully shimmering sounding songs inspired by singer/sax-player Lina Langendorf's insightful travels around the globe. Clearly indicating that the band's name, a Japanese word meaning fairy, is aptly chosen.

the press about "The Wind-Up Waltz"

"Yosei want to stretch the expected. Blasting into small guitar and organ solos where you least expect it. Lina Langendorf's singing style is heavily influenced by jazz singers like Sarah Vaughn. Backed by the group's blazing mix of Sufjan Stevens arrangements and Stina Nordenstam melancholy the result is a stylish genre crash. Probably one of this spring's best Swedish records."
Helsingborgs Dagblad

"The sound is sparse, almost restrained. You look into the ocean and sense a greater force without really daring to dip your toes into it. It is elegant, salty and sweet. A rediculusly beautiful mix of roaring and crackling folkpop and jazz"..."you can almost, but just almost feel the scent of Animal Collective. The will to experiment and express one self is just the same as with Brooklyns most hyped animal collective and damn it, it is good..."
David Larsson Shoutmagazine.se

"The meeting between the nordic light and the african subtle swing is sometimes, like in the hypnotising Lily totaly briliant."
Johan Lindqvist Goeteborgsposten

"It is close to the nordic, it is close to both root and free form, to folklore and jazz. Sometimes tangent to both Nina Ramsby och Ludvig Berghe Trio or The Tiny. Sometimes just pure sweet simpleness. As if you're walking a long and winding path that leads you into the unknown, but you can experience the present on your way."
Magnus Sjoeberg GAFFA

"A beautifully restrained album, an exercise in the art of cool playing and the emotion that can be generated through the subtle rather than the loud"
Padraic Grant cluas.com

"Brand new and extremely good for you are Swedish alternative folk outfit Yosei..." "...the stream-of-consciousness lyrics extolling the yearning for pastures is quite appeling and the euphoric outro makes for a surprise summer delight"
Samson Hill The Guestlist Network about Yosei and their song "The Illusionist"

"A sweet associative mix of pop, folk and even a pinch of jazz" Musikindustrin

"Listen to the soft, folky and totally adorable mp3-singel "The Raven with Jenny Wilson on guest vocals."
