Marino Ikemura [Sax, Composer]
Marino Ikemura was born on Miyakojima island, Okinawa in 1986, and continues to live there.
As the saxophonist for the band Black Wax, their first album, Naak-nee, was produced in 2011 on the Miyakojima label Myaku Records.
So far, they have released four albums produced by Makoto Kubota.
Separate from her band, Ikemura has performed on albums by Blue Asia, Hakase-sun, and Mariko Hamada. She’s covered genres from classical to R&B; funk, soul, and reggae to afro and folk songs.
