Founder of PERFORMING SONGWRITERS (UNITED WORLDWIDE) speaking at Womex Fri

UK-based Canadian songwriter and world traveller (11 yrs in Saudi Arabia and 20+ countries) Lorelei Loveridge of Orderly Bazaar Records & Publishing is not only chairing the Friday noon Womex panel 'Adventures in World Music' with two other esteemed panelists and globe-trotters, but she is actively seeking partners internationally to expand her now nearly 2400 member Facebook group PERFORMING SONGWRITERS (UNITED WORLDWIDE), which grew as a result of the unfortunate closure of the American magazine Performing Songwriter.

1500 members added themselves in 15 days, and since then about 100 members per month join the social network to receive a Friday tips blog and to discuss creative and business issues facing songwriters worldwide.

In fact, thanks to the word-of-mouth efforts of Mette Lethan, a Danish songwriter who spends considerable time in Chicago, USA, a very strong contingent of Danish songwriters are involved in the PSUW group, and due to the liasons established there Loveridge has already played at Blagards Apotek, one of the hottest Danish music venues; she will further perform a full double set of music at another popular Danish cafe called PH Cafeen Sunday at 4 PM after the Womex awards ceremony.

Date: Sunday, November 1, 2009
Time: 4:00pm - 5:30pm
Location: PH Cafeen
Street: Halmtorvet 9A, 1700 København V
City/Town: Copenhagen, Denmark

PERFORMING SONGWRITERS (UNITED WORLDWIDE) is a growing organization with a mandate to encourage support and cooperation in sharing information and best practices among songwriters from all nations. Those in the industry who support songwriters are also encouraged to join this 'loose union' as it has been affectionately titled by others.
