company descriptionLos Fuegos is an explosive, multicultural mix of the wild ecstatic energy of balkan music, the raw instinctive feeling of cumbia, the waving flow of
reggae and the aggressive phrasing of rock.
Los Fuegos was founded in Kolding, Denmark – a small city where eating pizza downtown is a big attraction.
In the summer of 2013 a Mexican hipster walked into a bar, where he met a Colombian metal-head. They had both given up on their rock star dreams,
and they were both displeased with the latin folk music they grew up with.
They both landed in Denmark looking for better opportunities whilst attempting to ignore the horrific weather. Little did they know, the music,
that they once disliked, would one day pay for rent, beers and Koldingish
The rest of the line-up was completed when they stumbled upon a Bosnian accordionist and two introvert Danes. In order to cope with the inability to
understand each other in one language, they included Spanish, English and Danish into their lyrics, which turned out to be a unique feature.
In 2014, Los Fuegos released their first album called Vivir la Vida. Later that year, they were nominated by the Danish Music Awards World as
“Best World Music Live Band”. They did not win, nor were they given medals for participating.
After the nomination, Los Fuegos found that there was potential for success, despite the Danish people's lack of dancing skills.
In 2015/-16 Los Fuegos toured the biggest cities in Denmark and began expanding to Germany, gaining recognition as one of the most active live
bands in the Danish World Music scene.
During the summer of 2016, Los Fuegos recorded their second full-length album, which will be released in spring 2017.
Los Fuegos’ line-up consists of Julian Maraboto (vocals, guitar), Amila Jusufagic (accordeon), Mario Casas (guitar), Rasmus Due (bass) and Lass Skak (drums).
