Davide Salvado is undoubtedly one of the most charismatic voices of Galicia. As a self-taught artist, he has travelled extensively through the Galician villages in search of rhythms, songs and dances. Thanks to his encounters with all these women, Davide has learnt not only aboutthe tradition in music but also about a way of life; a love for all those traditional practices andthe respect for their land and language, which has given Davide's way of singing an understanding of our culture that goes far beyond the music.
Davide was one of the artists chosen for the Official Selection at 14)WOMEX. This opportunity brought him widespread international media coverage; the specialised media consider him as one of the most promising world music artists. Davide has performed in several renowned festivals such as the Calgary Folk Music Festival (Canada), the Helsinki Festival (Finland) and the Festival Etnosur (Jaen, Spain) to name a few.
After releasing Árnica Pura (produced by Spanish artist Eliseo Parra), Rustica (in collaboration with Galician bagpiper Cristina Pato) and his collaborations, including Yo-Yo Ma’s 'Sing me home' (GRAMMY 2017 Best world music album), Davide presents now LOBOS, his most personal and elaborated record yet. LOBOS seeks to acknowledge and thank all those strong and anonymous women who through their tambourines and dances have made of Davide what he is now
