Xoán Curiel was born in Fonsagrada, in the mountain of Lugo in 1975.
During 7 years, Xoán participated in different theatre companies as actor, singer, musician and dancer until he recorder his first record Nai in 2009. This record will result in his first tours that will take him abroad (Brazil, Portugal, Argentina, Italy or France among others).

In 2011 he presented his second record Magnético Zen.

In 2014 he presents his third record “Estamos no verán”

In 2015 he recorded his voice for the Galician-Cuban film Maimiño, which Silvio Rodríguez created the songs for.

In 2016 he presented his fourth record Ecuacións, The results are six very lyrical songs, with and intimate appearance and electronic bases; a really different musical result than the previous works.
During the years, Xoán participated in different shows and festivals mainly tied to lusophony and author music.

Xoan has won the prize “Best album in Galician language” within the 5º edition of Independent Music Awards and he also has been nominated to the VI edition of Independent Music Awards and, in the catogory of Author Song in the II Martín Códax awards in Galician Music.

Festivals: Cantos na Maré, Atlantic Fest, Cantando a Marrodán, Azores Fringe Festival, Festival de teatro de Tárrega, Andanças, Cantigas de Mayo... Dirige además festivales como Estou La y el I y II Certame de Canción de Autor/a en Galego do Concello de Teo.
He has shared stage with several artists such as Carlos do Carmo, Javier Alvarez, Margareth Meneçes, Mayra Andrade among others.
In addition he has taked part in some festivals: Azores Fringe Festival, Festival de teatro de Tárrega, Andanças, Cantigas de Mayo...
His songs has been translated and sang in spanish, portuguese and brazilian, german and english.
