Maisha Compilation 2008 is now out for sale in various web music shops.
At Maisha Music we concentrate on contemporary electronic East African music within the styles of pop, reggae, dancehall, hip-hop and chill out/lounge. We combine beautiful African melodies, voices, traditional instruments, rhymes and lyrics with a more western electronic soundscape. We take the best of different cultural and musical backgrounds and combine them into a new appealing sound.
At the moment Maisha Music works mainly with upcoming artists, because we think that there is huge untapped potential within the East African music scene. There are so many young talents that haven’t had a chance to show the world, nor their own countries, that they actually have a lot to offer. We have picked out some of these artists and we are very proud to show you a bit of their fantastic work on this compilation.
