“Forever polida”, “toujours nice”, “sempre jolie” : when languages get mixed up like this it’s to speak of love – what else ! This time, our Occitano-Brazilian quartet invite us to a feast of special love songs : songs expressing love for the Marseille coast, that sea-washed ‘bank’ of the Mediterranean; love of port towns such as La Ciotat, Marseille and Recife, where the whole world seems to arrive some day or other, for better or for worse, but all these different cultures have contributed to the sauce these cannibal musicians are cooking. And finally, love for these women in all their simplicity – daughters of the sun, young women of the streets – always under someone’s gaze, from the factory floor to the sea edge in the calanques, there they are, “forever polida”.
