The vocal ensemble Cuncordu e Tenore de Orosei has prime of place in the vast panorama od traditional Sardinian music. This is due to both their intense musical performance and their characteristic repertoire
encompassing the two vocal traditions to be found in Orosei: the sacred songs of religious brotherhood and the secular “canto a tenore”. These singers are the faithful guardians of a musical heritage passed on their elders. Two specific vocal forms constitute their repertoire: ancestral pastoral songs called “a tenore” and songs celebrating the Passion of Christ, called “a cuncordu” and also known as “gotzos”.
