SOLAR
In her first album, Solar, Sandra Grego shows us a result of a musical coherence trajectory. The artist brings up a studied art, and lyrics of very good taste. She takes to the public a differentiated face of pop and shows us that pop is more than simply a genre, but an essential element for theformation of many other styles, from MPB (Brazilian Popular Music) to rock, from jazz to eruditemusic. A cd of great artistic value.
In that manner, Solar introduces pop beauties in several musical genres. Sandra Grego presents us a remake of a Miltom Nascimento's and Fernando Brant's venerated song, which names the cd, a song that comes up in a timbre that rambles from deep to high. The cd goes on with beautiful compositions and very well considered arrangements. That's what we feel listening to Sem Pressa and Mandei Uma Letra, songs with majestic piano harmonies. Still in that path, we hear bases otransgressive rock introduced in Nenhuma Parte, a song with great musical conception. In Chove, the percussion gives all sweetness to such a melodic and introspective song.
Sandra shows us a boldly guitar in truly harmony with the jazz, brought up from the piano lines inFome de Viver. Tao Perigoso, Sera que eu Falo Grego? and A Balada show us inteligent lyricsand harmonies, all induzed from a musical passion, not only by the distorted guitar, but also by the astuteness of the harmonica. Discretamente comes up with programmed keyboards in contrastwith a charming jazzy solo. Cidadao and Facil Fascinio are songs skillfully made with elements ofblack music and cool grooves strongly marked by the bass in synchrony with the "pauleira" of the drums. Eu So Tenho Um Caminho is another remake of a classic MPB song, which comes up to demonstrate that the classic pop still got its place in the contemporary musical world.
Solar's got not only Sandra's own compositions but, also, other partners' contributions. The album has seven songs by Marco Jabu. Leo Azevedo, Ricardo Mansur and Getulio Cortez are other amazing composers present in the cd. Sandra Grego, herself, is responsible for the musicaldirection, except for Eu So Tenho Um Caminho and Solar; in these two, Rafael Prista signs up the direction. Sandra comes together with very talented musicians and the album's got Balaio-Brasil label.
