The Sexican plays mariachi inspired gipsy rock with a twist of protest punk. They are known for their energy on stage, that in more than one case have induced a spontaneous chain dance among the audience.
Mike H - the bands' primary songwiter says about the bands inspiration, that it's
everything from Cuban folk to Hungarian polka, and that any element and genre is used, when it seems to underline the message of the songs.
The lyrics are sharp and often with critical views on modern society and the lack of international community, while there's still room for celebration and the 'joie de vivre'- joy of life.
The latter is especially noticeable at their explosive live-shows. Therefore it is not a coincidence that 'energy' is the word repeated through every single review the band has gotten in its merely three years of existence.
Among other achievements, the band has received a five-star review playing upon the major Danish stage Voxhall.
Now the band is ready with their first full length album 'The Summoning', which has been long awaited amongst the band's loyal fans.
Both artistically and technically the album features a tracklist containing 11 high quality songs with occasional guest appearances.
