Dears friends! We represent the artist Miguel Rivotti, a renowned national artist. He reached Golden record in 1997 and Platinum record in 1999.
In September 2005, he accepted an invitation to be the Portuguese representative (Commissioner) of the Royal Academy of Arts and Spectacle in Strasbourg.
Despite the experiences lived so far, Miguel felt he still had a lot to offer to music. Having developed his artistic maturity and to celebrate 25 years of career, Miguel recorded the new album (Con)Tradição. A TOUR (Con)Tradição which means “contradiction”, marks the return of Miguel Rivotti to the stages of the world.
It was the nostalgia that prevailed, the Love Faithful to Music and the constant appeal of his legion of fans, that justify his return to the records and to the contact with the general public.
The passion for world music that has developed over the years, the accumulation of experiences and musical experiences around the world, with musicians from different cultures and in different contexts, created in the singer the desire to celebrate his 25 Years of Career with the launch of his new album (Con) Tradição.
Contradiction, because it contradicts the "musical genre" to which Miguel habituated the public who still follows him today, without wanting to contradict them. With tradition, because it brings to this new project of contemporary sonority, the fusion of traditional sounds that identify the Portuguese musical culture in the world, keeping the peculiarity of its voice and interpretation, matured by the experience.
In order to do that, Rivotti borrows the Portuguese guitar from fado, or marrying its harmony with the ruffle of the Portuguese bass drum, or by talking with our neighboring flamenco guitar, in moments of pure virtuosity.
In this way, Miguel Rivotti assumes new sonorities in his repertoire, now Luso-Iberian, calling himself new authors and composers for his songs.
Along with the release of his new album, Miguel Rivotti and all the musicians who recorded with him in the studio, created a great concert for the TOUR (Con)Tradiction. This tour will be on the road in Portugal and already has shows scheduled in five continents.
I want to present my music to the world. The sounds of modern fado without forgetting the sounds of traditional fado. “It's important to preserve the origins, but find the perfect marriage with modernity”, says the singer.
It is certainly a concert that will mark the memory of its audience, in a happy and cheerful concert, to the sound of Portuguese music.
