Known for his sensitivity, musicality and his organic drumming, Ayman has found a unique musical voice as a result of his passion for jazz, Arabic music and his natural traditional Tunisian influences. During his second decade, the 26-years- old drummer has played in European and Asian festivals with countless stellar jazz Artists and Grammy winners from allover the globe, his reputation has steadily grown with every performance and soon was considered as one of the most brilliant Drummer/composer of his generation.
A prolific composer, Ayman also plays the Ud and the Piano as part of his musical education in the High institute of Music in Tunisia where he studied his Master degree. His love for music and education has taken him across the world including Europe where he studied Jazz and India where he studied Konnakol and Polyrhythm with the legendary Percussionist Dr S Karthick, “Ayman is one of the very rare musical drummers I ever met” -Dr Ghatham Karthik, India 2012.
Ayman has established a new Project of his original music, “Ayman Boujlida Quartet”, which is the fruits of his worldwide experience and unlimited passion for music; blending odd meters, grooves and challenging rhythms spontaneously with jazz influences and the special identity of the Tunisian modal music. He is accompanied in this project with ones of the most talented musicians in Tunisia including Malik Dhiab (Piano), Fawzi Soudani (Arabic Flute), Nassim Belhsan (Bass).
