Stitou & Mishalle
'GnawaJazz Fusion'
Far away from any musical fashion, stripped to the bare essence of music these two musicians develop a common language on stage with which they start to dialogue sometimes hesitatingly, sometimes passionately. This sort of intense interaction can only be achieved as the result of years of collaboration and friendship.
Stitou starts to pluck his obsessive rhythmic basis on the sintir (Moroccan threesnared bass) on which he models his raw vocal lines. Mishalles sax breathes the soul into this project: he may mumble, sigh and bark but he will always deliver the melodic line that lifts the music to a next level.
At least two other Moroccan musicians (more on request) act as passionate choir to the vocals of Stitou and excite musicians as well as audience with their clattering percussion and jumps.
This timeless MET-X project is a quest for essence.
