Biography

Clemente Junquera has been signing ever since he was a child. He started in small artistic groups such as; Pies Plomos de Sevilla, Mazaco de Coria del Rio and Torre Macarena. He also participates in small festivals such as Ramblas de Barcelona, Alicante, Granada and Malaga. Junquera performs in shows all over Spain and also has been touring all over the world. As early as a seven year old Junquera recorded Rito and Geografia del Cante in a program of flamenco signing and later is hired in innumerable gypsy flamenco groups.
Junquera lastest album contains famous songs from desaparecido Jero Chicos and also gran Parrita, song dedicate as an homage to the great faraona Lola Flores, but Junquera adapted the song with a buleria rhythm. Junquera is widely known for his artistic contribution in theatres and shows, signing to complement flamenco dancing. Thanks to his strong voice Junquera shares part with many great artists such as: Juan Pena, Jose Merced, Pan Sequita, Curro Malena, Carmen Linares and Monset Cortes. Junquera talent reigns in his family with famous artist like Chocolate, Diego Gastor and Moraito.
Currently he lives with his family in Las Cabezas de San Juan, a small town in Sevilla. Junquera has devoted his life to the arts, constantly participating in flamenco festivals. Junquera is an absolute charismatic leader capable to congregate an entire town for an event, all in the name of the arts and to communicate. He represents the gipsy race with absolute pride and with his music he conserves this culture. Gypsies symbolise an enormous power of a town that doesn't have sand and that were expelled from India and appeared all around Europe. Junquera makes history my preserving and extending the magic of the flamenco music and the spirit that is possesses.
