Moanas European debut album was released in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy in June 2002. A compilation including songs from previous albums and new tracks, TORU reached 17 on the European World Music charts.
The songs “Ancestors” and “Treaty”, both focus on land and power and include special haka (traditional war-dance) compositions. "Moko" is a spoken word track about traditional custom of Maori tattooing. "Kahu", a collaboration with Neil Finn, and showcases pre-European Maori instruments.
The video for "Te Po" will be featured at WOMEX Film Screenings on Saturday, 25 at 13hr 15-13hr 50, as part of an entry by filmmaker Toby Mills.
