For the past 20 years Modou Gaye has been seeking to safeguard and transmit, in order to share them with the world, an artistic education and a spirituality that he inherited in particular from his father, Imam Sakhir Gaye. His spiritual and artistic education began in childhood. He directed dahiras (choirs) from the age of 11 years old.
Modou Gaye is a munchid who has crossed many borders in search of the universal reconciliation of religious music and music itself. His path led him from Senegal to Egypt, where he played with famous oriental and international musicians, then to Qatar, Ethiopia, Germany, Sweden, France, etc.
