The saxophonist Marcelo Monteiro was born in São Paulo, Brazil. He has played with many Brazilian artists and at the same time is developing his own work with his authorial compositions.
Marcelo has played with Gilberto Gil, Cauby Peixoto, Wanderléa, James Chance, Rita Ribeiro, Moraes Moreira, Elba Ramalho, Junio Barreto, Ortinho, Dj Tudo e Sua Gente de Todo Lugar, Simone Sou, Projeto Cru, Comadre Fulozinha, Wazzabi among many others.

Released his first album in 2012, with a base of sax, acoustic bass and drums, and some participations by trumpet and trombone, an album without harmony instrument.
Now is releasing his second album, it's called RASANTE with a Brazilian jazz sound with plenty of groove. In all tracks has recorded by a quintet (sax, trumpet, bass, keyboards and drums) and also special participations by Guilherme Kastrup on percussions and a string trio.
