LAS BALKANIERAS are 3 beautiful women (Balkaniera Mediteranovich, Dona Bosanchera and Miss Russia) that can write hits, sing, dance, cook, wash and clean...
They are originating from Croatia, Bosnia and Russia but currently residing in Dusseldorf/Germany... They sing in four languages - German, Russian, English, Yugoslavian.
To create a unique sound for their outlet they teamed up with Pionear - Jamaican-German producer.
They call their music "Balkan-Power-Pop" and their motto is: FOOD LOVE MUSIC!
"FOOD LOVE MUSIC" is also the name of their debut album (Germaica).
But don't be mistaken by the word "Balkan", their music is mashup of all kind of modern dance music sounds - Balkan, tropical bass, dubstep, reggae.
This year Las Balkanieras performed at Womad festival (UK) among others.
"Las Balkanieras is a vocal trio whose mash-up of seemingly incongruous styles would, before a note's been played, suggest music not just made by committee, but by the theory of chaos. But this combination of (occasionally brash) Balkan vocal harmonies, dancehall bass, the guttural throb of dubstep and an overwhelming, brightly coloured pop exuberance enjoys an inexplicable appeal. It's not music that's ever going to satisfy the furrow-browed musicologists, but Las Balkanieras won't mind. They're too busy having a fine old time, most notably on their Balkanisation of Kelis' Milkshake where a traditional Bosnian dish replaces the original's dairy-based beverage - "My burek brings all the boys to the yard".
