Kulno has once said about himself, ”First there was a little skinny boy. Then came the accordion. Navy blue Weltmeister. Cerise Akkord. They became close friends. Later on, more accordions came. The friendship remained. Well, at times it cooled down a bit but caught fire again. It’s still hot.”
He continues, “I can’t quite exactly define myself and what I do, I might be an accordionist or a folk musician, maybe even a folk accordionist or just a musician/composer. But what I know, is that I like to seek for my sound and face; not to walk in someone else’s shoes, but to find my own path, whether I work with heritage or my own creation.”
Kulno has graduated from Tartu University Viljandi Culture Academy Folk Music curriculum.
