New labels
In 2000 Music & Words introduced two new labels, in 2001 we introduce two more.
In order to give a clearer profile to the various genres on our former label MW Records we decided to split it up in 5 different lines.
This year we created Red White 'n Blues for our blues, cajun and other american music releases. First two albums to be released were Captain Gumbo's 5th album and Last Call's 3rd (see records)
Also we created Papyros, dedicated to Asian music. The first release is by lute trie Luthomania and two Indian cd's will follow shortly.
Zimbraz, introduced last year, will release a new Ifang Bondi album, called Live. Promo's will be available at Womex
Fréa Records has been the most active, with releases by Gjallarhorn, Lúnasa, Värttinä, The International Cimbalom Festival and Jean Blanchard (Folk Classic). Coming releases will includeTata Mirando Gypsy Orchestra, The Easy Club (Folk Classic) and Värrtinä's live album 6.12.
On the sub-label -I-C-U-B4-T- we released albums by David Vos (who sings Jacques Brel songs), Fling (Irish music) and Benshakft (yiddish)
