Janita Salomé is one of the true giants of Portuguese traditional music with a very personal taste and interpretation. Already with a large career based on several records, he won several awards in the musical scene.
The bright star that guides his music is the search for natural links between the Portuguese traditional music and the Arabian music, from Morocco and Algeria. Portugal has in fact - besides Celtic, Roman, Christian and Jewish roots - also an Arab and Magreb spirit and that's the secret and the treasure of his music.
His last CD "Tão Pouco e tanto" has been considered one of the best releases of 2003: arrangements of great taste for beautiful poems and a voice in excellent shape. An album that already belongs to the gallery of real classics of Portuguese traditional music according to the specialized press.
An artist who dives deeply into the rich past of Portugal and emerges with a very imaginative and contemporaneous sound.
