company description

TANIA NARANJO,pianist,singer and composer. LATIN-JAZZ / WORLDMUSIC

As a pianist she has interpreted Piazzolla's symphonic music together with the most eminent tango musician in Europe, Marcelo Nisinman; Concierto de Nácar with MAV Symphony Orchestra in Budapest, and Las Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas with the County Wind Symphony Orchestra in Stockholm, conducted by Jonas Dominique.

Tania has attracted considerable attention with her project: Orange Tech & Latin Ensemble together with some of Sweden's leading crossover musicians: Svante Henryson, Morgan Ågren, Robert Elovsson, and Paolo Russo. The ensemble performed newly-composed music by Catharina Backman, Peter Lyne, Jorge Alcaide to lyrics by the Chilean poet Vicente Huidobro.

She has also sung with the Malmö Symphony Orchestra under the leadership of Josef Rhedin and Samuli Örnströmmer. Tania Naranjo was a special guest soloist during the production "It´s All True - A filmmusic concert by Jorge Arriagada and Orson Welles", with music by the famous score composer.

In 2008 she started her own band "Tania Naranjo's Latin Trio", with the intention of expanding the genre of Latin Jazz. When composing her music, she plays with a rich variety of elements: jazz, bossa, bolero, tango, Chilean folk music, Swedish pop and even contemporary music. The result is an amazing blend of contrasts with an expansive depth.

"La Industria del Miedo" is Tania Naranjo's debut album, recorded under her own label "El Valle Records" at STC Studios in Copenhaguen. (Release 9 november 2011)

In April 2011 Tania was solist and performed her songs toguether with Gislaved Orchestra and conductor Jonas Dominique.

Tania Naranjo has studied classical piano under Nora Bierwirth at the Conservatorio Nacional de la Universidad de Chile and under Marianne Jacobs at The Malmö Academy of Music.

She has been awarded the Condor Prize for her contribution as a Latin-American musician in Sweden and has been given a grant by the Swedish Arts Grants Committee

Reviews:

"........Music & poetry gave a sense of unity......" "......suggestive, strong-willed music with some breaking of the boundaries and improvisations. A kind of fateful dignity presided and bound everything together with the "narrator", Tania Naranjo's song which alternated between being darkly dramatic, girlish, theatrical and simply playful...."

Sydsvenskan ( Alexander Agrell) 18 november 2006

"Tania Naranjo's powerful Latin sounds on the grand piano and in her song produced an emotional experience..."

Norra Skåne - Mikael Ankarvik
