Tania Naranjo

TANIA NARANJO, pianist,singer and composer. She is a colourful musician who plays world music.

As a pianist she has interpreted Piazzolla's symphonic music together with the most eminent tango musician in Europe, Marcelo Nisinman; Concierto de Nácar with MAV Symphony Orchestra in Budapest, and Las Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas with the County Wind Symphony Orchestra in Stockholm, conducted by Jonas Dominique.

Tania has attracted considerable attention with her project: Orange Tech & Latin Ensemble together with some of Sweden's leading crossover musicians: Svante Henryson, Morgan Ågren, Robert Elovsson, and Paolo Russo. The ensemble performed newly-composed music by Catharina Backman, Peter Lyne, Jorge Alcaide to lyrics by the Chilean poet Vicente Huidobro.

She has also sung with the Malmö Symphony Orchestra under the leadership of Josef Rhedin and Samuli Örnströmmer.
Tania Naranjo was a special guest soloist during the production "It´s All True - A filmmusic concert by Jorge Arriagada and Orson Welles", with music by the famous score composer.

Tania have recently recorded a CD {RELEASE 2011} with her own music, with lyrics written specially for this project by her brother, poet and screenwriter Pablo Naranjo Golborne. The album was recorded at SUN Studios in Copenhagen in May 2010.

Tania Naranjo has studied classical piano under Nora Bierwirth at the Conservatorio Nacional de Chile and under Marianne Jacobs at The Malmö Academy of Music.

She has been awarded the Condor Prize for her contribution as a Latin-American musician in Sweden and has been given a grant by the Swedish Arts Grants Committee
