Famed for the raw soulful power of the
eponymous lead singer, their dynamic live
performances and for memorable top 20 hits
'Bad Day', 'More, More, More' and 'Sally', the
original pairing of Carmel McCourt (vocals)
and Jim Parris (bass) is still intact. Their
exceptional fusion of jazz, R&B, gospel and
Africana defined a unique style which is now
augmented by legendary drummer Brice
Wassy, famed for his work with Salief Keita
and Talking Heads to name but a few.
Collectively they have been working together
on new compositions that combine the
special magic of the CARMEL groove with the
extraordinary richness of African rhythms.
