The winner of Samsung EFestival Instrumental of 2015, the most important competition between instrumental bands in Brazil, Urbem excites the ears of those who are eager for something new. Having divided the stage with world artists as Wagner Tiso and Yamandú Costa, the band is made up of musicians who have their feet on Brazilian soil and their arms around world music. Without losing their Brazilian essence, unusual mixtures of effects, interesting rhythms and improvisations are an essential ingredient to their identity. The band explores sounds of the ukulele, the bass, the guitar, drums and vocals. Urbem surprises with its original soulful compositions, beautiful melodies and intriguing arrangements. Musical freedom is the spirit of this quartet which includes Sandro Moreno (the winner of the important drummer competition BATUKA MUSIC FEST in 2001) Bianca Bacha (vocals and ukulele), Gabriel Andrade (guitars) and Gabriel Basso (bass). Urbem was born from the desire of these four experienced musicians to make great and original music. The songs are strongly influenced by contemporary jazz and Brazilian music. The quartet combines good technique and authenticity to create music which has a strong indentity and a unique style.

Sandro is an experienced and respected drummer and arranger, brimming with creativity and originality. After winning The BATUKA MUSIC FEST, which is the biggest drum competition in Brazil, in 2001, he received a lot of attention from the Brazilian musical community, from the media and from his audience. He has played for several years with various famous artists in Brazil, including Zé Ramalho, Almir Sater, Leila Pinheiro, Tetê Espíndola, and Dani Black. He was also a member of the group that worked on a project of the French arranger Phillip Kadosh called BabelEyes. Together with this band, he travelLed around Europe and South America during 2006 and 2007.

With a beautiful timbre, Bianca is a very talented singer and ukulele player. She recorded her first album in 2009 featuring her own compositions along with other interpretations. "Urbem is everything I dreamed to do in music so far. It has not only been a very fun experience, but also an opportunity to play the best Brazilian rhythms and melodies arranged under the influence of what is considered the best jazz and world music of our time."

Gabriel is a young guitarist who has a university degree in music. He has written some beautiful melodies performed by Urbem, and he shows a lot of expression and personality in his compositions and improvisations. He was a member of Campo Grande’s Acoustic Guitar Orchestra between 2004 and 2008.

Gabriel is a bright, young bass player who has performed with a number of different artists in Brazil. He has been a member of the Camerata Violeira Orchestra since 2013. He has also been involved in researching Brazilian instrumental music with Toca Trio, and he has played in important cultural events such as the South American Festival in 2006. In 2014 he performed with the Marcos Assunção Trio at the Jazz International Week in Ciudad de La Laguna and Tensamba Festival in Madrid and Barcelona, Spain.
