Flamenco Americana
A Flamenco twist on American Classics

Kati Golenko, Polish-American flamenco guitarist and singer, brings the soul of American classics and jazz to flamenco passion. By bringing these two styles together, she seeks to further the cultural diversity which characterizes them both. With the intricate rhythms, guitar and vocals of flamenco, traditional American songs gain new perspective and depth. Her project reflects the diversity of cultures involved with flamenco today and aims to bring traditional flamenco elements to a wider audience with songs and pieces that the public connects with.

The project Flamenco Americana includes 4 musicians on stage with Kati Golenko as the singer and guitar player, accompanied by percussion, violin and a flamenco dancer.

Repertoire includes classics such as:
Ain’t no sunshine (flamenco rumba style)
Cry me a river (flamenco seguiriya style)
Somewhere over the rainbow (flamenco colombiana style)
All of me (flamenco rumba style)

Born in Chicago (1986), Kati began with the classical guitar at the age of nine. However, it was the raw emotions expressed through the intricate rhythms and oriental melodies of flamenco that captivated her. She has pursued this passion since.
In 2011 she began studying with Enrique Vargas. In 2015, she moved to Madrid to immerse herself in the flamenco community. Since then, she has expanded her flamenco studies in guitar with Jose Jimenez ‘El Viejín’ and ‘el Amir’, flamenco singing with Montse Cortés, and flamenco percussion with Miguel Reyes at the Casa Patas foundation.

Kati performs in a wide variety of venues and festivals across Europe and the United States:
