Gallo, Kumar, Søeborg, Flamenco-Fusion.
The Spanish flamenco guitarist Luis Gallo, tabla-master Nantha Kumar from Singapore (now living in Madrid), and the Danish guitarist Kasper Søeborg, have formed a trio presenting a fusion of flamenco, jazz and indian music.
Luis Gallo performs regularly with famous musicians, and takes part in the group’s Ara Malikian Ensemble and Mahavishnu Flamenco Project. After touring Norway this spring, he crossed Copenhagen to play with Kasper Søeborg and Tabla-master Nantha Kumar. Kumar and Søeborg has been playing together in varius projects on and of, since 2009.
Nantha Kumar has recently been playing with the violin virtuoso L. Subramamiam, and amongst others, the great master Zakir Hussain. The trio met at the world-music festival ”Bimbache OpenArt” in El Hierro in 2012, where they jammed and played a concert with Jorge Pardo. (the flute and sax player of the great flamenco king Paco De Lucia.)
Beside the Tabla, Nantha Kumar also plays Cajon, and he has been touring in more than 34 countries around the globe, and played with most of the internationally famous jazz/worldmusic musicians.
Kasper Soeborg (Copenhagen, Denmark) is an experienced guitarist and composer with 7 CD’s and 3 books documenting his own original music on the Danish ”Olafssongs” label.
