Andre Fernandes, guitarist

With only 33 years of age, guitarist Andre Fernandes is already one of Portuguese jazz certainties. Born for jazz at Portuguese Hot Club's School of Jazz, he quickly marked his imposition in the jazz field, having studied in the USA with masters like Hal Crook, John Abercrombie, Jerry Bergonzi, Mick Goodrick and Kenny Werner.

Participates as instrumentalist in several projects from prestigious names, teaches jazz in Lisbon and in Madeira, but already has an enviable resume on his own name. In 2001 he recorded his first album "O Osso", followed by "Howler", "Timbuktu", and, in 2007 "Cubo", which definitely consecrated him. His quartet is, without a doubt, a super band joining top names from the Portuguese jazzistic scene: Mario Laginha on piano, Nelson Cascais on doublebass and Alexandre Frazao on drums.
Plays in numerous bands and different projects.
