Born 6th March 1972 in Kampala, Uganda; His family
fled the Idi Amin regime when he was two years old,
eventually settling in Denmark. His status is one of a
stateless and political refugee (ie. - he has no official
recognized nationality) and is fluent in 4 language so
far - English, French, Swedish, Danish and his native
tongue Lugbari. Despite all this turmoil, Al has found
space to embark on a career in the music business that
has granted him eight Danish Grammy nominations of
which he has received three.

Al Agami´s career started in 1986 with an underground
rap-group called Dope Soulution. His career took off
while a member of the relatively short-lived group
Wizdom 'n´ Motion that achieved a string of Top 10
hits in their home country of Denmark.

Al Agami's reputation was further cemented by the
August 1992 release of the underground hit "Deep
Undercover" in Scandinavia and Germany along with a
video which was for a month on MTV Prime, Yo- MTV
and Party Zone.

Al Agami was at this point much in demand, he was
also asked to join Technotronic, but declined the offer.
He also participated as a featured artist on on Dr.
Baker's hit "Turn Up The Music" and Leila K's album ".

Al Agami's debut album "Covert Operations" was
released in 1993 and recieved a positive response from
the Press, which hailed Al Agami as being the "best
ever" rapper in Scandinavia, as well as the Record
Industry, whose local IFPI Group awarded Al Agami a
Grammy in the "Best Rap" category for the Danish
Grammy Awards 1994. His vocal delivery and the
general elegance about him puts him in a class of his
own.

In 1994, Al Agami was a part of "Blachman Thomas
meets Al Agami and Remee" and released "The Style
And Invention Album". This was a album which fusion
hip-hop and jazz to an extent not heard before. Also
this project recieved great acclaim by recieving 2
Grammy's in 1995 for "Best jazz Album" and "Best Rap
Album".

In 1996, Al Agami once again seeking new challanges
joined a theatre production of the musical "Hair" which
was sold out for 3 months and the production was
invited to France.

In 1997, Al regrouped with Thomas Blachman and
Remee and recorded the followup album "Four Corners
of Cool".

In 1998 Al Agami was the frontman of the Spanglish
pop group Los Umbrellos. Where they had a world-wide
hit with the song "No Tengo Dinero" selling over
1.000.000 records.

Al Agami has proven himself to be a jack of all trades
and a master of some. He has enormous live
experience ranging from 2 turntables and a DJ to a 15
piece band. He has also worked as a Creative Product
Developer at the Danish Indie Mega Records (known
for Ace Of Base) and has given lectures and hosted
seminars in schools and universities in Denmark.

In 2000 Al Agami teamed up with DJ Aligator and co-
wrote "Whistle song" which sold triple platinum in
Denmark, "Lollipop" which sold double platinum and 5
additional songs on the album.

In the autumn of 2000, Al Agami returned to the
theater as the narrator in the production of "D´Jazz".

Other highlights of the year were: an appearance in
"Edderkoppen" a very successful series on Danish
national TV, Commercial for "Post Danmark",
Advertisement for "Berlingske Tidende" National
Newspaper, and a cameo in "Flyvende Farmor" a
Danish Comedy which premier in the movie theaters in
2001 as well as a song on the soundtrack.
