Born in the European City of Istanbul, brought up in the Anatolian city of Ankara and Oriental Bagdad, Alp Bora found his real home in Vienna, where he moved in 1998.
Why Vienna?
"Because no where else in Europe, you cand find or enjoy the Orient and the Occindent with such cultural intensity and harmony under the same roof."
he says. A Turk in Vienna, he feels at ease. Bora is inspired by the musical heritage of Anatolia. Anadolu in Turkish, comes from the word "the motherland", a word that summarizes the essence of this region as the place where many cultures flourished. Thats why he does not claim to sing in Turkish songs but rather the songs of Anatolia.
With his seductive purple oriental-soul voice, he transports the audience from the current time and place to an oriental world of heroes, myths and legends.
