A few artists could perhaps lay claim to being The Voice of Cuba but Pablo Milanés' claim is stronger than most. Pablo was there at the beginning of the Nueva Trova (new song) movement in Cuba in the late sixties and his voice and compositions influenced generations across the Americas.
He is a musical icon and innovator mentioned in the Spanish speaking world in the same breath as John Lennon and Bob Marley.
