PARNO GRASZT (='White Horse' in Romani) IS A MASSIVE BLAST OF ENERGY which totally shook the world in 2002 when their first single HIT THE PIANO rocketed to the TOP 10 of World Music Charts Europe in just 2 days after its official release.

Ever since, the irresistable vitality of the 9-piece family is enchanting many around the world. Songlines considered them as THE SOURCE of Gypsy music while BBC drove the attention
to their simple rural life in an up-close documentary.

After 3 studio records and 6 years of touring from Moscow to Scotland, PARNO GRASZT
reached India in 2008, spending 3 weeks in Rajasthan, tracing their roots, looking for familiar faces, tunes and melodies. This unique discovery will be revealed here at WOMEX 09 as part of the FILM SCREENINGS on FRIDAY 30 OCT 17.00 in BELLA CENTER, ROOM BV 2+3. Come and meet the producers after the screening !

Right after, you can see them live on SATURDAY 31 OCT 0.00 on FOYER STAGE where - using a 50-years-old archive video filmed in their village - they will perform together with their grandparents. A real time journey you must see !
