Behrang Miri is a Swedish artist, with a mindblowing sound and a unique approach. He continues to find new directions with his music and he is part of the world music scene. Behrang Miri and his music represent the diversity of urban Sweden. Since his latest album "The book of our life", multiple singles and being on the road touring he has created a musical spot on his own in the musical landscape. So now he will soon be back with his forthcoming album "Dance to the revolution"

Two years has passed since the release of his debut album. This time he is taking a step further both lyrical and musically, a wider perspective of storytelling and a more profound sound. The album has influences of urban rhythms, melodies from the Middle East, South America and North Africa in a worldwide fusion

On the new album "Dance to the revolution" Behrang Miri will rap in English and take you to a new level of oriental sound and music. At a live performance he and his band playing oud, saxophone, darbouka and nai will make you take part of an enchanting experience on stage.
The music of Behrang Miri has no boundaries therefore he brings down the house no matter where he performs and his ability to capture the dancing audience makes everybody no matter age or musical interest to join.

During recent years Behrang Miri has been performing all around in Sweden, at places like Stockholm, Gothenburg, and the Malmoe festival. He has also been on tour with the national theatre. This spring He's been touring Scandinavia and also been performing with two of the most essential rap artists from Iran. Hichkas, when he was on a European tour and also Shahin Najafi at his European tour. Behrang Miri has also been performing with bands like Blackstreet, Omarion and Beatnuts.

Outside of Europe Behrang Miri has been touring in countries like Brazil, Lebanon, South Africa and Palestine. In Palestine the tour was documented and was released as a documentary called "HipHop4 Gaza" The documentary premiered this spring at the international film festival in Gothenburg and will be shown at SVT during this autumn.

At the debut album "The book of our life" Behrang Miri combined oriental rhythms with rap and urban sounds. The lyrics on the album are aware, common and will capture you from the start. It can be hard to resist the context about subjects as alienation, love, honor and refugee status. The musical versatility on the album combined with the essential lyrics makes the album strong in all kinds of areas, from youth, people in the suburbs, to people in the city and from the countryside. The single "Amout Aleyk" was a hit wonder in the Swedish radio and also became a MySpace hit of the week at NRJ.

Nowadays Behrang Miri has establish himself as a well-known name as a great multitasker with flexible skills in social awareness. He is now often seen and heard in media for example as regular guest in the Swedish morning TV and in debates shows. Last year an entire show was dedicated to him in the program "Språkresan", which was about languages. While being on the air as a host for the radio show "Retorik" Behrang Miri talked about the use of languages and the efficiency of how to express yourself.

On the legendary show P3 soul, Behrang Miri was interviewed by the long time experienced host Mats Nileskär. He's a living legend among music journalist and is the host since 1978. Together they discussed the hiphop of today and the part it took in the democracy movement among the youth. Behrang Miri has also made a pilot-show at the Swedish radio about hiphop and the value of being a tool for social change. He's also been represented in newspapers like Sydsvenskan and SVD. As a columnist Behrang Miri writes every two week in "City", the local everyday free newspaper.

Abroad in international media Behrang Miri has been interviewed in The New York Times, Al-Jazeera and Voice of America. At the end of this month there will be an episode about Behrang Miri and his music at the weekly music show Kook which is the largest show in the Persian language, aired on Persian BBC.

Among the many awards Behrang Miri has received "Kunskapspriset" (The Knowledge Award) from Nationalecyklopedin handed over by the royal princess and is one of the most prestigious prices you can win in Sweden. Also, ha has won"the joy spreader of the year" in the year 2008. He has also been nominated twice for the integration award from the council of Malmö. This year alone Behrang Miri has received two scholarships. The first from the trust of Alma regarding his hard work in the organization RGRA - Loosely translated; The movement of the street, voice and face. His focus is among the youth and how to create activities for them in the outskirts of Malmö and at the same time working with integration. The other scholarship, he has received was from the trust "Göra Gott" who wanted to reward his social entrepreneurship and his unique ability to create bridges between different cultures, generations and contexts.

So today Behrang Miri, at the age of 27 has made a mark in society already establish himself as an artist, lecturer, showhost, actor, write and coordinator for the organization RGRA.
He has a great passion for social change, which is something essential in his music. For example the song "Free Iran". Both video and song has spread around the globe like a wild fire.
