UK, London Based band, Peyoti for President is the brain child of Anglo-Italian Pietro DiMascio who describes the band as Punk-world fusion for the 21 century. The band fuse euphoric beats, mixing ska, rap, flamenco, punk, samba, batucada and other global beats creating an original organic blend of fantastic live music.

The performing musicians span many cultural backgrounds, including Brazil, Portugal, Colombia, Spain, UK and many others.

The band have shared the stage with Manu Chao, Ojos de Brujo, Iggy Pop, Tinariwen, Buena Vista Social Club, Ozomatli, Los de Abajo, Massive Attack, Nigel Kennedy, Gogol Bordello and many other well know artists.

During the last few years Peyoti for President have moved up the scale playing profile slots at festivals such as Rockwave Festival (Greece), Colours of Ostrava (Czech Republic), Przystanek Woodstock (Poland), Sfinks (Belgium), Bestival, Glade, Glastonbury (UK) and venues across UK including, Brixton Academy, 02 Shepherds Bush Arena, Londons Roundhouse, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Nottingham Rock City & many others..

The band have supported or been billed alongside top world class artists (as listed above) and increasingly headline various concerts both in the UK and wider Europe.

Peyoti for President released their debut album in May 2009 to critical claim in both mainstream music press and specialist world/roots press, Rock n' Reel desrcibing it as "Genuinely & Shockingly Original", Rolling Stone praising the album; "Agitation via world music hasn't been this enthralling for a long time" and The Independent giving the album the top album rating, "hits the ground running and doesn't let up for a moment." TIME OUT recently described the band as "New Era conquistadors of Political Punk" & Songlines as " Incendiary music - they cannot and surely will not be ignored."

Many UK BBC and Independent radio station have been great supporters of the group (BBC London, BBC 3, BBC 6, BBC Asian Network).

Members of the band will be present at WOMEX 2010 at the British Music Stand and will be available for bookings and other ideas that will help bring the group to a wider audience throughout Europe and wider afield.
