The famous Italian poet Emilio Rentocchini, wrote about our music: “Here you can find a universe in every soft string vibration, in every vocal hint. And this universe, here and across the Atlantic Ocean, in the times, in many attemps in thousand different instruments, adapted in a form, contained in the space of few of beats, …a fate”.
A wonderful universe of sounds made of recalls of tango, venezuelan valts, Sicilian mazurkas, gipsy polkas, passionate instrumental and vocal serenades, that the quartet Piccola Compagnia delle Serenate poured in his original compositions entrusting the performance to the wonderful sound of the quartet of guitar, cello, violin, accordion and the incredible voice of Delfio Plantemoli, considered in this times, in the world of italian folk music, one of the must important artist of the sicilian way of singing.
On those elements works the Piccola Compagnia delle Serenate producing shows where, like religious representations, the borderline between music, dance and theatral moving, became very thin.
This way of working assure the audience and the management powerful and emotional shows and the highest professional seriousness how is happened in the David Festival of Asti 2002, in the Mamas Jazz Club of Ravenna, In the World Music Festival of Bologna, in the Classic Music Festival “Ville e Castelli” of Ferrara and in The Lake Festival of Perugia.
Quartet Serenade is the show proposed in this season and is the extreme synthesis between the pure sicilian way of singing and the original compositions of the quartet where you can hear the echoes and the tones meet and suddenly used by the italian immigrants in the beginning of the past century ..all along across the ocean.
