Chaired by Kate Caro (UK), associate director, film & multimedia in performance, Intermusica Artists' Management

With Emma Calverley (UK/Australia), executive director, Creative Partnerships Australia

In 2017, Intermusica and colleagues organised a Kickstarter crowdfund for one of their ensembles, the Colin Currie Group, who wanted to record the best ever version of Steve Reich's seminal work Drumming. Within three weeks, they reached their target and the recording is now about to be released, with future recordings to follow.

In this session, Kate Caro from Intermusica joins Emma Calverley, from Creative Partnerships Australia who run the Australian Cultural Fund, in conversation, to discuss crowd-funding for classical projects (successfully or not), the different platforms, the best approaches, how to grab a very wide audience's attention and how to be realistic with targets.
