Various organisations have built their mission around serving the contemporary and classical music community - composers, performers and the entire ecosystem revolving around the musical works. Collecting, curating and disseminating information about music, its creators and performers has been at the heart of those institutions. However, in today's environment of information overload and hyper-connectedness, what is the value and service various music centers still can offer to the Composer, the Performer and the Work? This session dives into these questions and draws on the particular experiences and best practices of the many organisations present. The key questions: Do we understand the challenge? How are we designing our institutions to meet that challenge? Music (Information) Centre: an archive, a resource centre or an advocacy group?

The session is in the Long Table format
