The Music Business Ontology (MBO) is an open-source description language for music business meta-data, providing a vocabulary to describe, link and store data in a structured way. It is being developed to help translate data from one format to another, between all kinds of music industry business partners. The merit of an open-source project like the MBO grows if companies and artists contribute to it, and the goal is to take it to an international level as soon as possible. In an open discussion we would like to speak with everyone about what happens when the MBO reaches a high level of usage and success. What requirements will it have to meet? How can quality management be assured? Who should get involved? How can it be sustained, extended and protected for the community and by the community, to create value for as many users as possible? Come join us and share your thoughts!
