You probably wouldn’t guess from looking at a map that it takes four hours to fly from Santiago de Chile to Lima in neighbouring Perú, more than you could fly from Paris to anywhere in Europe. Long distances, a complicated history, and a rugged geography make international collaboration in Latin America a lot harder than in Europe, in spite of a common language (or closely related, in the case of Brazil). But as trade and general relations between countries in the region flourish, broad roads of collaboration are opening up. Existing cultural networks are getting stronger and new ones are emerging.
We invite all delegates from Latin America as well as others currently working with cultural institutions in the region, planning to do so or simply curious to know more about it, to come and share their experiences and ideas about networking with and within this fascinating continent.
